Although we don't sell cigarettes, we've been selling a small selection of cigars for some years now. It somehow seems more in keeping with our classy, Jazz Age vibe, and our main venue has its own private courtyard where you can sit back and relax for the time it takes to appreciate a cigar properly. But we've now started offering them through a dedicated Rum and Cigar Bar, where you can partner them with a selection of premium rums.

It's perhaps not surprising that rum should be considered to compliment cigars so well, given that they both come from the same part of the world. The products we currently have on offer are:
Appleton Signature Rum
£4 (25ml, 40% abv)
A blend of rums matured in smaller barrels before being married in oak casks then
bottled at 40% ABV.
Nose: Peppery and spicy, a green, grassy note with wonderfully buttery toffee and
a hint of pear drops.
Palate: Medium body, quite spicy with black pepper and chilli, a little butter and vanilla.
Finish: Slightly astringent, medium length.
El Dorado 12-year-old Rum
£6 (25ml, 40% abv)
This great 12-year-old Demerara rum has won golds at the Caribbean Rum Taste Test in London seven times in the first ten years!
Nose: Sweet, toffee, vanilla, spices, oak. Hints of smoke.
Palate: Cocoa, caramel, prunes, spices, vanilla.
Finish: Long, sublimely smooth, hints of smoke on the tail.
Ron Zacapa 23 Rum
£7.50 (25ml, 40% abv)
This is a truly superb Guatemalan rum, blended using the solera system. (Common in the production of sherry, this is a system where, rather than ageing each batch separately, younger spirit is added to a mix of older rums; so that what is bottled is a blend of different ages, but the average age of what is in the mix gradually gets older.) Sublime stuff. This was matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks.
Nose: Very sweet and nutty, honey and chocolate. Dark brown sugar, gentle smoke. Pipe tobacco.
Palate: Very sweet and soft. Dark brown sugar, molasses, rounded, so gentle!
Finish: Thick, medium length, hint of smoke on the tail.
